“The awareness that emerges through paying attention on purpose, in the present moment, and non-judgmentally to the unfolding experience moment by moment” (Jon Kabat-Zinn). It is about cultivating the ability to be in the moment, not get distracted by past or present, or long held stories, and simply saying “yes to the now”.
Momentum incorporates mindfulness practices to help individuals understand and work with the reactivity that comes with conflict and other types of nervous system activation. By bringing in acceptance of all of our feelings without judgment, negative emotions are quelled and spaciousness is fostered. This enables choices to be identified and thus, a sense of greater personal control.
